EDO STATE DIASPORA AGENCY A STEP IN RIGHT DIRECTION Edo state have very large migrants in Europe, America, Canada and Asia. In Spain, there are over a thousand Nigeria migrants with majority origin from Edo state. Similar figure can be said of Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Ireland and some other Eastern Europe countries. Welfare of these great indigenes and citizenry of Edo state deserve just and fair representation. Benin city record thousands of euros and dollars in transfers from diaspora from 2001 to 2018 according to world bank statistical datas published. Most of these money transfers were made by Edo people in Europe, UK, America and Canada. There is need for Edo state government to institutionalized a diaspora agency for better management and communication Edo youths and children born in Europe with promising future and love for their father and mother land have increase over the years. *Oseghe Edo Association Ekae End of Year Celebration 2023 * Iyare! Iyare! It was yet another beautiful gathering of Edo sons and daughters from diaspora and in Benin City Edo state of Nigeria. Members and executives of Oseghe Edo Association join Ekae branch on end of year get together party held at coordinator's residence at Ekae, Ikpoba okha local government area of Edo state 10th of December, 2023. Among dignitaries present were Enowaen Nosa Idehen currently in Nigeria from Canada, Mr Osas Ayezuma, Mr Kelvin Uwaifo from Italy, Mr Simple Enabulele, cheif organiser of Oseghe Edo Association Diaspora community Ekae. Mrs Isoken Enabulele led the gorgeous Ekae Edo princeses in an Edo cultural performance at the event. IZỌHẸ IGUẸ By Uwagboe Ogieva Izọhẹ is Edo language word referring to gift, present, physical presentation of favor, materials or cash to a person, people, group or organisation. Iguẹ is traditional festival celebrated by Edoid people of Africa from Benin Kingdom, southern Nigeria. West Africa. The Oba of Benin is custodian and traditional head of Benin Kingdom who lay opening roll to this great event at every end of year, mostly in month of december. Igue though origin to Benin Kingdom are observe everywhere in the world were members, clans and associates share with this beautiful indigenous African cultural celebration. * OSEGHE EDO ASSOCIATION DIASPORA COMMUNITY EKAE BRANCH MEETING WAS SUCCESSFULLY HELD ON 26TH OF DECEMBER, 2022* Among attendees were Mr Nicholas Ogieva, Mr Simple Enabulele, Mr Adesuwa Isoken Enabulele and 7 others. Mr Simple Enabulele led the coordination supported by Mrs Adesuwa Isoken Enabulele. Main Issues discussed were reviving Edo cultural values and morals especially among youths and children, encourage learning, use of Edo language and the practice and revitalizing of Igue festival. Mrs Adesuwa Isoken Enabulele challenge members to join hands with the association to not only take their membership serious but to known the success and peaceful development of the Edo family and community depends on collective effort of every Edo man and woman. Everyone was happy with the initiative and promise to contribute in their own little way.

You have written your name in great book of the union. Layed a rock that gradually will grow into unmovable mountain. This is not a co-incident but according to how great oracle wants it. ON EDO LANGUAGE SEMINAR BY NEBOTV This is good and I commend Nẹkpẹn Obasogie for all her effort promoting Edo. I know honourable Commissioner Dr. Joan Oviawe. When she was made Commissioner of Education in Edo state, I had a breath of hope. Calling a conference or seminar for standardization of orthographic of Edo language (ABD) is just too little for gathering of such great minds. Have observed, many Edo scholars or writers duel too much on ABD EDO. When was first invited to Edo language scholars presentation at institute of Benin studies 2010 by Prof Uyilawa Usuanlele, though could not attend for health reasons, I gave my contributions. Many papers wẹre presented but remaining taking actions on many ideals presented. Edo born are incharge in Edo state. Nobody stop Edo people from doing what is right for themselves in their mother and fatherland. Here are suggestions that could be taken or focus for the seminar: 1. *DONATION TO SUPPORT CHILDREN OF DECEASE ORGANISATION MEMBER* Oseghe Edo Association Diaspora Community regret to announce passing away of Mr Abu Isu, a registered member, brother, elder and executive of Lagos and Ogun state branch of the organisation on 20th of July, 2022 after brief illness. He surved by one wife and 6 children. Mr Abu Isu became active member of the organisation after first inauguration in April 2019. He was a retired Nigeria Airforce man of Ora in Edo north. He died at the age of 64 years. The president, Uwagboe Ogieva, propietor and coordinator, Mrs Florence Omogiate, members and executives of Lagos and Ogun state branch of the organisation appeal to diaspora communities, members and lovers of unity and progress of Idu descendants worldwide to donate any amount they can to support children of the deceased member at this challenging time.
