 EDO STATE DIASPORA AGENCY A STEP IN RIGHT DIRECTION



Edo state have very large migrants in Europe, America, Canada and Asia. In Spain, there are over a thousand Nigeria migrants with majority origin from Edo state.

 Similar figure can be said of Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Ireland and some other Eastern Europe countries. Welfare of these great indigenes and citizenry of Edo state deserve just and fair representation.

Benin city record  thousands of euros and dollars in transfers  from diaspora from 2001 to 2018 according to world bank statistical datas published. Most of these money transfers were made by Edo people in Europe, UK, America and Canada. There is need for Edo state government to institutionalized a diaspora agency for better management and communication

Edo youths and children born in Europe with promising future and love for their father and mother land have increase over the years. These children deserve a home and a voice. With an institutionalized diaspora agency, they can be heard. 

Oseghe Edo Association, for example have had series of EDO indigenes cultural exchange with the Spanish society since 2007. There have been various cultural exchange between Spanish government and Edo immigrants. The group have had series of dialogue for improve standard of living for Edo citizens living in Spain. A Diaspora agency will make Edo state government access and hinece many of these cultural exchanges including discussing areas of collaboration and cooperation with many european countries 

There are experts, professionals and profile individuals residing in Europe countries willing to connect and collaborate with their government in areas of expectize, data processing, IT and Ai technology. An agency idea environment for these potential dialogue

To meet up ever changing world of continuous growth and development in different area of nation building, Government need liace and seek diaspora input and collaborations as essential part of advancing and skyrocketing Edo modernity with high standard of living of 21st century.

Institution of Edo Diaspora agency by Edo state governor will create a memorable productive space between government it's citizens abroad.

Edo indigenes in diaspora can use this diaspora agency to relate challenges, difficulties and progressive ideals with their government in Nigeria once instituted. Leadership or representive can coordinate other diaspora organizations and associations in  nucleus for better coordination

Members and executives of Oseghe Edo Association join Ekae branch on end of year get together party held at coordinator's residence at Ekae, Ikpoba okha local government area of Edo state 10th of December, 2023.
