There is need for youths and writers to start asking their parents, community leaders, odionwere, okaegbe, chiefs, elders questions about their family Edostory to document, archive and protect for  unborn children and next generation.

Edostory is the study and learning of history and culture of Great Benin Nation as define by Uwagboe Ogieva.


The writing of Edostory of your family circle, your lineage, village, community and towns, keeping of record of every little event, photograph images for posterity sake is priceless. 

Its highly recommended to always write date and time at the back of any photograph you take. Print and  archive your albums with dates and little comments if necessary.

Improper keeping of documentation  major cause for lost of Edostory memories in many families.

Children need be taught how to write or keep diaries of themselves and families in school. Parents need to not only teach their children how to keep records but demonstrate or show good examples of record keeping of family events and community activities with date and time.


Oral keeping of memories can be distorted or lost  with time, especially when first hand learners are no more.

Good record keeping helps alot in management and efficiency beside being evidence of facts
