  *Economic Utility of IGUE: African Festival in Benin* *By Uwagboe Ogieva* *First Published 4th Of June, 2010* Amongst festivals celebrated over the globe today, Igue festival is up-to- date with significant monument of the past historical facts of the Great Benin Empire before the coming of Europeans (missionaries) into Benin. It is coined in the memory of what led to the 1897 war of the Benin massacre that cannot be forgotten or left to be buried in order to knowing it’s importance among other activities, as a reference point to tracing and in remembrance of how the artifacts looted by the British undertakers are where they are today in Britain.  EDO STATE DIASPORA AGENCY A STEP IN RIGHT DIRECTION Edo state have very large migrants in Europe, America, Canada and Asia. In Spain, there are over a thousand Nigeria migrants with majority origin from Edo state.  Similar figure can be said of Portugal, France, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Ireland and some other Eastern Europe countries. Welfare of these great indigenes and citizenry of Edo state deserve just and fair representation. Benin city record  thousands of euros and dollars in transfers  from diaspora from 2001 to 2018 according to world bank statistical datas published. Most of these money transfers were made by Edo people in Europe, UK, America and Canada. There is need for Edo state government to institutionalized a diaspora agency for better management and communication Edo youths and children born in Europe with promising future and love for their father and mother land have increase over the years. Members and executives of Oseghe Edo Association join Ekae branch on end of year get together party held at coordinator's residence at Ekae, Ikpoba okha local government area of Edo state 10th of December, 2023. Among dignitaries present were Enowaen Nosa Idehen currently in Nigeria from Canada, Mr Osas Ayezuma, Mr Kelvin Uwaifo from Italy, Mr Simple Enabulele, cheif organiser of Oseghe Edo Association Diaspora community Ekae. Doesn't matter whether rich or poor, young or old, strong or weak, short or tall, handsome or urgly, black or white. "All that ever breath count will stop count"(Uwagboe Ogieva). While few knows when their breath will stop count, many do not know. Is death actually a gain or loss? as magnified by Benson Idahosa? Iguẹ is traditional festival celebrated by Edoid people of Africa from Benin Kingdom, southern Nigeria. West Africa. The Oba of Benin is custodian and traditional head of Benin Kingdom who lay opening roll to this great event at every end of year, mostly in month of december.
